Wedding Invitations & Stationery in Alberta

Your wedding invitation is the first glimpse your guests get of your wedding style. Alberta wedding invitation designers create custom suites that reflect your personality and set the tone for your celebration. From elegant letterpress and foil-stamped designs to modern digital prints, hand-painted watercolour invitations, and eco-friendly recycled paper options, Alberta stationery designers offer an impressive range of styles and techniques.

In Alberta, wedding invitation suites typically cost $400 to $2,000 for 100 guests, including save-the-dates, invitations, RSVP cards, and envelopes. Digital printing is the most affordable option, while letterpress, foil stamping, and engraving are premium techniques that increase the cost. Custom hand-painted or illustrated invitations can range from $2,000 to $5,000 or more. Many designers also offer day-of stationery — menus, programs, place cards, and signage — as part of a package.

Alberta stationery designers are increasingly offering eco-friendly options, including recycled and seed paper (which guests can plant), soy-based inks, and digital-only invitations to reduce waste. For mountain weddings, some designers incorporate Rocky Mountain and prairie motifs into the design. For multicultural weddings, many designers can create bilingual or multilingual invitations and incorporate cultural motifs.

When choosing a designer, ask about their design process, timeline, whether they handle printing and assembly or if that is additional, and whether they offer matching day-of stationery. Custom designs require more lead time than semi-custom templates. Begin the design process 6 to 8 months before your wedding, with invitations mailed 6 to 8 weeks before the date (10 to 12 weeks for destination weddings requiring travel).
